Therapy for Depression
Depression is usually characterized by persistently low mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life.
Possible causes include a combination of biological, psychological and social sources of stress. These can result in changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, self-esteem, behaviors such as irritability, agitation, crying.
Depression can also be physically painful – aching joints, muscle stiffness, lethargy, headaches.
Do these thoughts often enter your mind?
- I am worthless
- I feel guilty for just wanting to be alone
- I hate who I am these days
- I can’t stop crying
- I feel gut-wrenching pain, but no one understands.
- My life feels overwhelming
If you have had any variation of these thoughts and don’t feel like your usual self, chances are you may be suffering from depression.
I want you to know that you are not alone. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to once again have hope for their lives.
I understand the social stigmas that come with the label of being depressed. Therapy can help you sort out the environmental, biological, and circumstantial factors while offering support and encouragement through a very challenging time in your life.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
